12 days of Christmas - treat bags day 1

I made treat bags for my daughters class using Craft Room Basics (accent 2) and circles. I put in 8 malted milk balls and 1 cherry sour - 8 regular reindeer noses plus Rudolph's red nose!

Harvest Moon cake

After making the waterfall cake - I was asked to make another one for a Harvest Moon Party. So I made chocolate trees (cutting out the tree with my Cricut from Paper Doll dress up) chocolate fence and corn stalk (also cut out pattern with Cricut then covered paper with wax paper, melted the chocolate, and piped on using decorator bag.) I made the pumpkins using circus peanuts and gumdrops. The moon was a challenge as she wanted it to be orange (with darker orange swirls..). What do ya think??

Birthday cake - waterfall

Was asked to make a cake for a party on August 27th for a friend and her request was friendship and waterfalls. So, here are the pictures of the cake!

Tea towel dresses

I saw a post on CraftGossip.com and thought they were adorable! I had to try them out! So, over to A Little Loveliness I went and printed out the instructions. My daughters friend is moving to Texas so we were having her over for a weekend of fun before she would have to leave and I brought them to Jo-Ann's to find see what we could find. I picked up one embroidered tea towel (they only had one!) and then let the girls find a fabric they liked. We ended up with white with silver sparkles and my daughter picked the turquoise ribbon, while her friend, the purple. It took a while to make as I had to finish all eight edges of fabric instead of just the two from cutting the towel in half. If you go to http://networkedblogs.com/kV5aq you can see the original post - just look for the post from July 19, 2011 titled "Tea Towel Pillowcase Doll Dress Tutorial" and there are so many more wonderful things if you look around Melissa's site! Here are the photos of the doll dresses we made on Saturday July 23, 2011....

Tacky Tuesday's Challenge #7 - Sea Creature

It took me a while to come up with this one, but I really enjoyed it once it came to me! I used George to cut out the stencil for the letters and then used Studio 8 glitter glue to color them in, I used Paper Doll Dress Up and glitter paper for the sand and the sea creatures were with Create A Critter. I used my gypsy and lined up all my paper and let it go!

Hope you like it!

BTW - This was what I commented when the new challenge went up on June 21st...
"woohoo! new challenge, now where is my craft office? I know it was in that corner of the house, but it is missing under a lot of paperwork and stacks of school books! LOL!"
Unfortunately, my office was never found and I crafted on a corner of my desk and my lap! LOL! (Three tests and two finals makes it difficult to organize! But no worries! I have a week to straighten my nonsense out!

My Pink Stamper Challenge # 8

http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-8.html

This is challenge #8 which was to make something with a summer theme. These photos were taken in 2009 and I have been trying to stick them on paper since! I knew I wanted to use blue paper for the background but didn't know what else! Since I had been using Pooh Font and A Childs Year all day, I figured, why stop now!
So here it is. My daughter (yup the baby from challenge #6) finding a crab at Cape Cod.. She was so proud of herself!

My Pink Stamper Challenge #6

http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-6.html

Challenge #6 was to incorporate a tag into the project. Going through the book for A Childs Year, I had to make a baby page for my daughter. The picture is right after she was born and the little bugs were die cuts that I have had forever. I added some yarn for some color and texture (sorry hard to see, there is so much pink it makes the photo almost washed out!!!).
Hope you like it!

My Pink Stamper Challenge #5

http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-5.html

The 5th challenge was to create something 3-D. So, after thinking bit, I decided to make a card holder. My friend likes frogs so I used Create a Critter and cut two of everthing at 4 inches. Then I used my hot glue gun and attached one complete frog on each side of a clothespin. I printed out the sentiment from my computer. When assembled, I realized my froggy didn't like to stand, so I added a stick from my yard! and still being a bit wobbly added a rectangle of cardstock for the base.

My Pink Stamper Challenge #4

http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-4.html

Challenge #4 was to make something for Mothers Day. This is the one that I completed Saturday so I could give it to my MIL. I used yellow paper as it is her favorite color. I used my Cricut cartridge A Childs Year for the cut and printed the sentiment from my computer. I used twine on the bottom of the card for a little dimension.

My Pink Stamper Challenge #3

http://www.mypinkstamper.com/2011/05/national-scrapbook-day-challenge-3.html

I skipped challenge #2 as I wasn't sure if Kraft cardstock was a specific brand...
So, challenge #3 was to create something in support of Breast Cancer (using the ribbon or pink). I made a quilt for a friend to raffle off to help her raise money for the Avon walk. I have been trying to put the pictures in my quilt book for a while, but couldn't get the colors right with the paper - too much pink looks like Pepto!

I didn't use any fancy cuts or anything, just my Bic markers and my Creative Memories corner punch..

My Pink Stamper Challenge #1

For National Scrapbook Day, Robyn at My Pink Stamper sets up 12 challenges during 12 hours!! I only managed to complete 1 on Saturday and I completed 5 more today. Phew! So, here they are (in order of the challenges that I entered).

Challenge #1 - Anything Cupcake...

I used my Cricut cartridge Create A Critter for the cupcake (minus the cherry!). The words were cut from Pooh Font Set. I also used Studio 8 glitter glue to decorate the face and make little squiggles on the card.

Hope you like it!

Cow card contest

HI Y'ALL!! I finally found (made) the time to make a card for the Tacky Tuesday Challenge! We had to make a card using a cow and using the words "moo" or "udderly" in a phrase. I made an anniversary card and the song from Garth Brooks keeps playing in my head, so I made the comment "you still mooove me".... What do ya think???

Bunny cups

I made (with the help of my 8 year old) little Easter baskets for my Girl Scout troop. I used yogurt cups covered with white vinyl and hand cut bunnies on fuzzy vinyl and stuck them on to the front of the cups. I used a marker for the face and whiskers and blush for the ears and cheeks. I let Madison color in the pink nose...
Inside, I put 4 chocolate eggs, a sleeve of M&M's and a mini chocolate bunny. Happy Easter all!

More Girl Scout thank you jars

These jars are "Star Jars". I made three - one for my unit leader, Bonnie, who got me involved in the joys (and the headaches! LOL!) of Girl Scout Leadership - and a great friend! One for a fellow leader - Barbara for always being supportive and full of helpful ideas - and also a great friend! And the third for Susan (a Girl Scout recruiter from the Worcester office) for keeping us in the know with all the Girl Scout changes and being supportive like no other for our unit. I folded pieces of paper (approx 150 per jar!!) into stars. I got the idea from facebook - via Kaboose.com

Here is a video of someone folding an origami star www.foldastar.com

Was a lot of work but so worth it to see their surprise. The theory is that when you are having a bad day - you open a star for a nice message.

New Projects

Well, I have so blown my post a week. So here are some things that I have been working on. I took the pictures at the "Me & My Guy" Girl Scout event. I made signs for my car to advertise Girl Scout cookie sale- using my Cricut and vinyl. I made a Girl Scout shirt (all the girls in my troop got to paint a shirt - I cut the image they chose with my Cricut on freezer paper and ironed on so they could paint the design.) I made signs for my dishwasher to notify my family if the dishes inside are clean or dirty...
Now I am working on signs for my craft room and my daughters bedroom door.
Take care! AND Happy St Patrick's Day!

Girl Scout thank you gifts

This year, for the first time, I was in charge of the Cookie Cupboard and the Cookie booths for my area (16 troops, about 200 girls). I approached a few business' about allowing the Scouts to sell cookies out front. After working out schedules, I was pleased to have spoken with these companies. I decided that THIS year, as I am not sure if it was done in the past, we should do thank you gifts to show our appreciation. So I bought some square vases from Walmart, used some vinyl bought from signwarehouse.com, my Cricut Expression, and Sure Cuts A Lot program on my computer. I am going to have each troop write a thank you note with their troop number on a post it sized paper and it and put it inside. What do ya think?

Valentines

Okay, I checked the date on my last entry and it was Jan 16th.. sigh... so much for a post a week! Girl Scout cookie season is kicking my but! LOL! But I did make some Valentines for my daughters class. I used paper from a paper pack that I have had for a LONG time! I cut the paper in 4 x 6 strips and used a Fiskars punch for the "scalloped" edge. I cut the hearts at 2 inches on my Cricut with the George cartridge, selecting the slotted feature. I used Studio 8 glitter glue and filled in the slots for eyes and then made a smiley! Hope my daughters 2nd grade likes them! (and I hope you like them too!)

My Pink Stamper Bog Hop challenge

Okay - here is something I made for the My Pink Stamper blog hop challenge. Was definitely a challenge to make! I had issues welding the panda to the card frame - but got it figured out after a few tries! I used Pagoda for the panda, Gypsy font for the words, and cloth flowers from Wilton - held on with a brad. I cuttle bugged the Panda with Swiss Dots. Hope you like it!

Etched candle

Hey! I am posting again - twice in one week! I am my daughters Girl Scout leader, my area Cookie Service Manager, Cookie Booth manager, AND a cookie cupboard this year... UGH! So - the next few weeks will be CRAZY. :0)
Okay, this morning I decided to etch this really cool candle holder I bought at Michaels that has three level tiers for tea lights.
My friend Melissa gave me the idea for Beauty and the Beast for roses (thanks Mel!).
I used vinyl bought from signwarehouse.com, used my gypsy and Indie Art - cutting the roses at 6 inches high and placed about 3 inches apart. I used Armor Etch and let it sit for just over an hour.

Hope you like it!

Happy 10th Anniversary

I have made another gift for my husband for our anniversary (10 years!). I saw this saying in a shop and decided to make it with my Cricut. I did use Sure Cuts A Lot to cut the words out as I didn't really have the right font cartridges on hand. I bought the vinyl from signwarehouse.com (thanks Robyn at My Pink Stamper for mentioning their site in one of your videos!)

Anyway! It is a new year and I am hoping to enter at least one post (or more) a week!

Thanks for checking in!
